Waste not for Hunt’s Food Group
As a certified B Corp, south of England wholesaler Hunt’s Food Group champions climate consciousness to support a sustainable future for the food industry
“At Hunt’s Food Group, we believe that doing the right thing for people, our community and the planet isn’t just good practice or for profit; it’s our responsibility,” said Richard Hunt, Chairman, Hunt’s Food Group.
The wholesaler has reduced its carbon emissions by utilising advanced route optimisation technology to lessen mileage and fuel consumption during transportation.
It has also utilised all available roof space on sites across the group to generate renewable energy. Hunt’s’ full 6-phase solar rollout will provide a capacity of 1,800,000 kWh of electricity generated and used on site per year.
In addition, in its brand-new Food Hall, Hunt’s has included its exclusive Zero Waste Deals freezers and chillers.
“These freezers and chillers are where unsold items are donated to charities and good causes,” explained Rose Chappell, Marketing Director, Hunt’s Food Group.
“This turns potential waste into meaningful contributions for the local community, which sits in line with our values and our commitment to reduce food waste.”
